Shape the future of crypto tax with a product people truly need

Koinly helps investors handle their taxes without losing their minds. Our goal is simple to describe but incredibly hard to deliver: a user should be able to complete their taxes in under 20 minutes.

We’re hiring a crypto-savvy problem solver who will start in Customer Support, solving real user problems through support tickets. This will give you a deep understanding of Koinly and our users, preparing you to quickly grow into a Product Specialist role — shaping new features, and helping developers squash bugs.

No prior experience in a similar role is required, but strong crypto and blockchain knowledge is a must. You should be comfortable with different protocols and on-chain activity, including using block explorers to investigate transactions.

As a Product Specialist, you’ll get your hands dirty in the data — understanding why something has gone wrong, whether that’s transaction data, imports, API discrepancies, cost-basis calculations, or how crypto activity is represented in Koinly.

What you’ll own

You’ll be the bridge between our users and developers, helping ensure Koinly remains one of the most accurate products on the market.

• Solve user problems: Investigate complex cases, identify root causes, gather feedback, and help Support resolve issues.

• Shape the product: Turn user insights and research into opportunities, working closely with Product and Engineering.

• Ensure data accuracy: Investigate transaction and portfolio discrepancies and work with developers to improve integrations.

• Test and refine features: QA new features and fixes before release, catching bugs and ensuring they work as expected.

• Improve workflows: Use AI and automation to streamline processes and keep development work well organised.

What success looks like

Within 30 days, you can confidently use Koinly with complex portfolios, investigate transaction and import discrepancies, and produce clear, actionable findings. You have finished your training in support and can move on to your product role.

Within 60–90 days, you’re handling high-complexity crypto cases, spotting recurring patterns, contributing to QA, and producing investigations Engineering trusts.

The benchmark: You can run your own complex crypto portfolio through Koinly, understand what’s happening with your transactions and data, and investigate — and fix — anything that doesn’t look right.

This role is a fit if this sounds like you…

• Crypto-native: You understand wallets, exchanges, transfers, trading, staking, DEXs, LPing and dapps. You’ve used crypto extensively yourself and understand the ecosystem beyond simply buying and holding. Hands-on experience with DeFi, NFTs, staking, and complex on-chain activity

• Comfortable with block explorers: You can navigate explorers such as Ethereum or Solana, find transactions, and use on-chain data to investigate issues.

• Analytical & technical: You enjoy debugging messy problems, comparing data sources, and reaching evidence-based conclusions.

• Meticulous: You have a high bar for quality and a detective mindset when it comes to QA and testing.

• Tool-savvy: You’re comfortable with spreadsheets and learning technical tools in general.

• A clear communicator: You’re fluent in English and can turn complex technical issues into clear, actionable insights.

• Adaptable & collaborative: You learn quickly and work well across Product, Engineering and Customer Support.

• An AI power user: You use AI to investigate, automate and work faster — while applying your own judgement and validating its outputs.

• A curious self-starter: You’re curious about even the smallest details and willing to dig deeper to understand how things work. You don’t wait to be told what to do—you prioritise effectively, spot what needs doing next, and take ownership. You believe in showing, not just telling, and turn your curiosity into action and tangible results.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong understanding of APIs and how data flows between systems

• Programming or scripting experience in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages

• Familiarity with blockchain development concepts and on-chain data structures

• Experience with Jira, APIs, scripting, or blockchain development
